RELEASE OF CONGREGATION CALENDAR 2017

Little Flower of Jesus Primary School, Calangute, Goa, founded by Msgr. Herculano Gonsalves held their Annual Prize Distribution Day on 17th December 2016.

Rev. Sr. Faria Barretto, the Superior General of the Congregation of the Handmaids of Christ, was the Chief Guest. Keeping in mind the 150th Birth Anniversary of their Founder, Msgr. Herculano Gonsalves, she released their Congregation Calendar 2017, with the title “A Priest with the heart of a Pelican. Dying to self, he lived only for God and the other.”
An operetta was presented highlighting the compassionate and caring love of Msgr. Herculano for the poor, the needy, the orphans and especially children and women in distress.
The Chief Guest gave away the prizes to the meritorious students and congratulated them for the wonderful items they presented. She also congratulated the management and staff for their tireless efforts in bringing out the hidden talents of the young students.
In her message to the parents and teachers she said that each child is a “bundle of possibilities” and therefore it is our duty to help them to unfold and bloom so that they these simple and innocent children can grow to become responsible citizens of our country. She expressed her hope that imbibing good values in school, these students will one day make us proud by becoming great leaders and taking up different professions to be of service to society. She also wished that some of these children may become priests and sisters to be witnesses of God’s love.
